Ritz-Craft employees have a sense of pride and ownership in the homes they build. The majority of site builders use subcontractors and often the lowest bidder.
Quality Control Inspections – Daily plant inspections by Ritz-Craft in addition to third party inspectors ensure consistent quality and code compliance that meets or exceeds state standards.
Superior Strength - Modular homes are the strongest of all frame homes built, because they are built with more framing and fastening materials to withstand the stress of transportation and erection.
Cost Savings – Building time is reduced by building the home and doing the site preparation at the same time. This reduction in time lowers your interest payments on a construction loan. In addition, most site builder pricing reflect the historical costs of job site theft, vandalism and damaged materials. "Off-site built" modular homes arrive at the job site 90% complete which reduces those costs. We also pass more savings on to you because we buy materials by the truckload, while most builders buy from the local lumberyard. Computer aided drafting reduces material waste and we also recycle much of our scrap material.

Outstanding Customer Service - Every Ritz-Craft home comes with a full one year limited warranty and starting in 2007 a 10 year structural warranty. Ritz-Craft has a dedicated service department that works with your builder and his staff to provide professional service. In addition, many of the brand name components, such as appliances, shingles and siding used in your home, are covered by separate manufacturer warranties.

The Heckaman Home Advantage
Heckaman Homes was established in 1969. The current management, Craftech Building Systems, Inc., acquired ownership in 1986. Throughout the company's history, there have been more than 15,000 homes produced in the original Nappanee, Indiana location. The facilities comprise of 90,000 square feet on 20 acres. Current annual production, in the two manufacturing plants, exceeds 450 homes.
Our two product lines consist of over 80 different floor plans. The Custom Series include ranch, Cape Cod and two-story homes. This series offers the home buyer a wide array of optional features, name brand products, color selections, and modifications. The Freedom Series offers fewer options and features, yet provides the buyer a quality constructed and affordable ranch home.
Additionally, with the recent introduction of the American Value series, Heckaman Homes can offer a very competitive home. While still retaining the high standards of materials and workmanship, these homes offer the right combination of quality and affordability.
Heckaman Homes employs an experienced and qualified workforce of approximately 120 people. Materials are purchased in volume by an extensive and dependable supplier network.
Each model design is subjected to structural analysis and code conformance review by an independent professional engineering firm. Every home has its own set of construction drawings that accompany it throughout production, assuring that it will be built in accordance with applicable state and local codes governing one- and two-family dwellings. In addition, every home is inspected by trained personnel of the Indiana Department of Fire Prevention and Building Safety along with an independent third-party agency if required by the destination state.
Heckaman Homes are generally constructed with greater structural integrity than site built homes, since they are designed to withstand the stresses encountered in transportation. All homes are delivered to the building site by trained factory drivers and are crane-set on the home foundation. Full-time crews are employed by Heckaman Homes to provide service to homeowners in accordance with their warranty.
